We are proud to announce that Chamberlain Group has taken out ‘Business of the Year’ at the 2022 Central Coast Business Awards!
Hosted by Business NSW in October 2022, the awards recognise business growth, entrepreneurship, and success in the Central Coast region.
While Chamberlain products are globally renowned and exported, Grifco, our commercial arm of the Group, locally engineers and manufactures its cutting-edge garage door openers and accessories.
For over 100 years, Grifco has been proudly manufacturing at our Gosford facility and is a leader in growth and innovation in the region.
Chamberlain Group takes out top gong
Nominated for several categories, Chamberlain Group was honoured to receive the night’s most prestigious award – Business of the Year.
Graeme Sheekey, General Manager, Operations and Business Development, credits the win to Chamberlain’s continuous improvement journey:
“In 2017, we set ourselves a goal to be globally competitive and produce world-class products. That’s when we commenced our continuous improvement in lean manufacturing, which underpins our Gosford factory operations,” said Graeme
Green credentials celebrated
Adding to their accolades on the night, Chamberlain Group also won the ‘Excellence in Sustainability’ award.
We received this prestigious award due to our commitment to sustainable business practices, and our work towards reducing the environmental impact of our manufacturing and operations.
The judges praised Chamberlain’s “impressive regional vision that has innovation and sustainability at the core and passion underpinning the drive to achieve”, and celebrated Grifco’s zero waste initiative.
At Chamberlain Group, we understand that sustainability is about more than just reducing waste; it is vital for the growth of Australia’s local manufacturing industry. For this reason, Grifco has committed to a sustainability roadmap, with the following key initiatives:
- Zero waste to landfill by 2025
- 100% recyclable packaging by 2025
- Carbon Neutral by 2025
- Water conservation
- Prolonging product lifespan and providing equipment recovery solutions
Exceptional leadership recognised
The excitement from the night didn’t end there; Graeme Sheekey, who has been with Chamberlain Group for over 11 years, received Highly Commended in the Outstanding Business Leader of the Year category.
The Outstanding Business Leader Award recognises an inspirational business leader aged 36 years or over who has demonstrated a commitment to their workplace, industry and the community through leadership, whilst providing mentorship to others.
According to Grant Emanuel, Director, Marketing & Strategic Partnerships – International at The Chamberlain Group, this tremendous accolade can be attributed to the hardworking team at Chamberlain Group, the company’s exceptional leadership, and its commitment to growth and innovation on the Central Coast.
